School for Scoundrels, 1959

Henry Palfrey (Ian Carmichael) is an upper-class twit who struggles for supremacy with employees, waiters, women and the lecherous cad Raymond Delauney (Terry-Thomas). Alas, Palfrey loses on all fronts. Soldiering on, he enrolls in the Yeovil College of Lifemanship headed by Prof. Potter himself (the incomparable Alastair Sim). Armed with lessons in one-upmanship and gamesmanship, our hero goes forth to become one of life’s winners. “A Dandy British Comedy” said Variety. Warmly remembered.
